Mark grew up in Reno and is a fifth generation Nevadan. After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno, Mark ventured into the business world and never looked back. He has held a number of positions over the years of his career primarily focused on banking, technology, and health/fitness. Mark and Dr. Sasse developed a common bond over a decade ago when Dr. Sasse first moved to Reno after his fellowship at Lahey Clinic. Mark has always held a life-long interest in fitness and health. After realizing that both Dr. Sasse and Mark held a common passion for the entrepreneurial spirit, they decided to create the venue called iMetabolic which is dedicated to helping individuals reach and maintain their ideal weight. In September 2012, Dr. Sasse ventured out to start his own surgical group and Mark currently holds the position of CEO for that organization as well.
It seems as though everyone has a reason that shapes him or her into what they are… Mark’s passion for health was born long ago through both his father and grandfathers’ experiences as they related to health. Unfortunately, both passed away too early at the age of 51. Mark somehow sensed early on that he did not want to fall into that same category and thus evolved to his desire to help others to both regain and achieve optimal health. Additionally, Mark and Dr. Sasse share a common philosophy in the treatment of those patients that are dealing with health challenges and both believe that compassion, patience, and understanding are key tenants in the treatment of all patients that seek Dr. Sasse’s skilled hands. It’s this same philosophy that both impart daily on the Sasse Surgical organization.
When Mark’s not working, he enjoys going to the gym which is an integral part of his life and a key to his staying fit. In the winter, Mark enjoys skiing and in the summer is mountain biking and boating at Lake Tahoe. Mark’s been married for 25 years to his wife Liz and together they have one daughter, Lexi who’s currently studying at the University of Nevada, Reno.
